Over the Vasco da Gama bridge (coming from Lisbon)

  • Take the A12 and at Km 18 (Algarve/Setúbal) turn off in the direction of Setúbal.
  • Immediately on the right, follow the signs for PALMELA until you come to the motorway exit tolls.
  • After passing through the tollbooth, go left on the roundabout towards PALMELA, passing through VOLTA da PEDRA. Turn right at the traffic lights (in the direction of PALMELA).
  • When you arrive at Largo do Chafariz in PALMELA, at the 1st roundabout, take the LISBOA/AZEITÃO exit. After about 100m, at the 2nd roundabout, turn off down the hill towards BARRIS. There is also a sign for “Quinta da Escudeira”.
  • Take the road through the Barris valley (municipal tarmac road). After approximately 3.2 km (from the 2nd roundabout), you will see a rural road on the left (just before a white house with yellow painted bands set slightly back from the road, and at the entrance to the rural road, on the left, there are two rubbish bins and some letterboxes).
  • Follow the rural road for a couple of hundred metres, first going down and then up the hill until you arrive at the green gate of the Quinta (on the right-hand side of the road).

Over the 25 de Abril bridge (coming from Lisbon)

  • Take the A2 in the direction of SETÚBAL.
  • Turn off at exit 4 to PALMELA  (after Palmela service station).
  • After the tolls, go left on the roundabout towards PALMELA, passing through VOLTA da PEDRA. Turn right at the traffic lights (in the direction of PALMELA).
  • From Largo do Chafariz in PALMELA, the directions are the same as from the Vasco da Gama bridge (SEE ABOVE).

Coming from the south on the A2:

  • When the A2 branches off towards Ponte 25 de Abril (A2)/Ponte Vasco da Gama (A12), follow the signs for Ponte 25 de Abril, staying on the A2.
  • After passing the Setúbal exit, stay on the motorway until you come to the exit for PALMELA.
  • Exit the motorway towards PALMELA.
  • After passing through the tolls, go left on the roundabout towards PALMELA; passing through VOLTA da PEDRA. Turn right at the traffic lights (in the direction of PALMELA).
  • From Largo do Chafariz in PALMELA, the directions are the same as from the Vasco da Gama bridge (SEE ABOVE).
